Behind Closed Doors A Tear in the Frame

"Behind Closed Doors A Tear in the Frame" which tells the story of 5 families and the devastating affect alcohol has on family life.

Watch through the eyes of a stranger as five families live their everyday lives, see the choices they make, the circumstances hidden, their beliefs, their torment, heartache and courage. Go through their journeys and learn to find out their inner secrets, past and look into their future.

There are some very strong messages in this performance, so be ready to get angry, upset and feel their pain as you are inflicted to a delightful and terrifying portrayal of Real life from ‘Behind Closed Doors’

This performance is suitable for over 13 years as there are some disturbing and complex issues covered.

There will be two shows at The Fuse, Partington on 23rd February 2012 at 2pm and 7pm.

Cage Football

As part of Trafford Council's '100 Days - We Need You!' campaign Trafford Housing Trust are running Football Cage events at

The FUSE in Partington

The Fuse in Partington have regular activities for everybody in Trafford. At Fuse you'll find a state of the art centre for sports, performing arts, recreation and business.

'Youth Club' is a members only scheme at The Fuse - membership is a £5.00 annual charge and then £1.00 upon entry to Youth Club on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Fuse is split into various zones with the latest equipment to help you get the most out of your time there.

Dance Zone

A mirrored dance studio where you can link in your music and record yourself to play back your choreogrraphy. All local and amateur groups are welcome.

Theatre Zone

A 340 seat auditorium is a flexible space which can be used for school or amateur performances, band nights and cinema club. The seating area can be changed so exhibitions, fashion shows with a catwalk or receptions can be hosted. You can also get involved in every aspect of theatre behind the scenes.

Activity Zone

The multi-use indoor area of the Activity Zone can be used for:

• Badminton
• Netball
• Yoga
• Table Tennis
• Fitness Classes
• Children’s activities
• Exhibitions

Outside there is a climbing area, basketball court and 5 a side football pitch.

The Activity Zone is the perfect place for local teams and groups to train or compete.

Media and IT Zone

If you want to learn how to record and develop your creative ideas through music and film you can use a state of the art recording suite.

If you need somewhere to practice then you can spend time in sound-proofed purpose built rooms.

There are specialist photography rooms and equipment and volunteers are on hand to teach you how to use the equipment.

The Blunt Project - an anti-knife crime project

The Blunt project is an anti-knife crime project funded by Trafford YOS, delivered by Gorse Hill and the Youth Service.

It aims to raise young people’s awareness of the dangers of knife crime, the law and the myths.

Ultimately we want to reduce the amount of young people who become involved in knife crime and serious violent crime.

The project will be delivered in three phases.

• Phase 1 – Consultation and design
  Outcome – Young people recruited and story lines created.
  
• Phase 2 – Media Production
  Outcome – 10 films produced and uploaded to various websites and USB sticks.
  
• Phase 3 - Presentation, distribution and feedback
  Outcome – Wall mounted plaques will be placed around Trafford with scanable barcodes for young people to access the films. A tour of Trafford schools will be completed.

The end product will include 10 short films filmed in different locations in Trafford, emphasising different associated risk factors to knife crime, e.g. gangs, bulling, DV, relationships, and young peoples' assumptions.

Other aspects will include interviews with medical professions, police, youth worker, community members and young people. The films will be easily accessible to young people and professions who can utilise this resource.

We need young people to write the scripts and act out the scenes, create the music and edit the production,etc. There will be a role for everyone!

Rugby in Trafford

The first ever Trafford Regional Schools Squad is set to be launched with Stretford High School, Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College, Sale Grammar School, Urmston Grammar School, Wellacre Academy and North Cestrian Grammar School competing.

Two clubs, The Stretford Rugby League Club and South Trafford Raiders, are also being launched.

Trafford Council are working in partnership with Manchester and Salford Councils.

Phil Fitton (Trafford's Rugby League Development Manager) works closely with a full time Trafford Community Rugby League Coach, employed by Salford City Reds Rugby League Club, plus schools and other partners, to raise the profile of the sport in the Borough.

Phil said: "These are exciting times for rugby league in Trafford and, with the World Cup only a matter of months away, rugby league in Trafford can only flourish."

Olympic Football Tickets

Trafford is a host borough for London 2012 Olympic Football and you can buy tickets to matches held at Old Trafford now.

The tickets are on sale on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets starts at just £20 with discounts available to young people under 16 and anyone over 60.

This year, The Co-operative is challenging young people to become green pioneers as part of their biggest ever community education programme - Green Schools Revolution.

The Co-operative is introducing Green Schools Revolution as part of their businesses' ongoing commitment to combating climate change and inspiring young people.

They want to inspire and activate young people from the age of five to 16, as well as their local communities, to come together and make their schools, homes and communities more sustainable.

Pandemonium @ The FUSE

On the 24th November there is a celebration of young creative talent in Trafford being held at The FUSE.

The line-up for the event is really varied, offering something to everyone's taste - from Thrash Metal to Grindie, Trafford's young up and coming musicians will be hopping through the genres, and impressing the audience with their cutting edge sounds.

The event starts at 6:30pm and will be going on until 10pm with an interval in the middle. The second half of the event will be the Partington young people's afterparty, dedicated to Partington young bands and musicians.
