Good4theHood - MTV Competition

Fed up with hearing about the crime and problems in today's society? Wish you could do something about it?

Here's your chance. MTV would like to hear your ideas on doing something Good 4 The Hood.

No matter how big or small your idea is, be it organising a football match or cleaning up your area - if it's Good4theHood - tell MTV and could turn it into reality and make a TV show about it..

To enter, all you need to do is register and create a profile page. Once you have done this, you can upload your entry via video or picture. The closing date for entries is 11:59pm on 12th July 2009.

The website lists some ideas to help to get you thinking…

• Organise a 5-a-side football league or basketball tournament to bring people your age together
  
• Clean up a public facility in your area to help prevent further vandalism/damage
  
• Organise a music event to raise awareness of an issue e.g. gun or knife crime
  
• Start a mentoring scheme that looks out for younger kids in your area, helping them to avoid gangs.
